Standing Strong Against Race And Ethnic Discrimination In The Workplace

In a world where equality should be the bedrock of our professional environments, race and ethnic discrimination still sadly permeate the corners of many workplaces. If you believe you are being treated unfairly at work due to your race or ethnicity, it is crucial to know that you are not alone and that you have rights that protect you under state and federal law.

Race Discrimination And Ethnic Discrimination Cases

Throughout my career in employment law, I have had the honor of representing a variety of clients in racial and ethnic discrimination cases, helping them achieve the outcome and justice they deserve. Below are some examples of recent cases.

Involving race discrimination, denial of promotion and retaliation

I helped obtain a settlement for an African American special education teacher who was twice denied a promotion that was first given to an unqualified Caucasian with whom the School District had preliminary conversations about the position before posting it and that was later re-titled and given to a second Caucasian after the teacher filed a race discrimination complaint. This case was heard in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.

Involving government discrimination and race discrimination in contracts

I fought for a six-figure recovery for an African American present of a business who was denied a contract with a state college because of his race.

Involving race and age discrimination

I represented a 61-year-old African American fraud investigator of a bank who was discharged by her younger Caucasian supervisor for allegedly poor performance. The client had received numerous awards in her more than 30 years of service. I successfully obtained a settlement for her in the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission based on race and age discrimination.

Involving racial harassment and retaliation and unpaid leave

I procured a six-figure recovery in the Delaware Department of Labor for an African American executive placed on unpaid leave from a global pharmaceutical company after she reported racial harassment in the workplace by her Caucasian supervisors.
